Hello writers near and far,
Our next meeting is Thursday, 8 May, 19:30. It will be online, using the open-source video meeting platform Jitsi, so anyone can attend.
Send your submission to gwgsubmissions@gmail.com before 23:59 on Saturday 3 May.
New members must attend at least one meeting before their first submission, even if you just want to observe, so that you can get a feel for how our group work. You may be asked to confirm that you understand our rules before your submission is accepted.
We accept all sorts of content. Self-contained short stories, extracts from longer works, poems, essays, etc, so long as it conforms to the guidelines.
When you submit, make sure your e-mail includes the following:
Title of submission
Name (or pen name) of author
Word count (soft maximum of 3000, see below)
A content warning if your piece contains explicit imagery, violence, discriminatory themes, or other sensitive content (mandatory where such content is included)
We aim to keep the word count of all submissions below 12 thousand and it is first come, first served. But we do try to be somewhat lenient when we can.
The link to the meeting will be sent to the mailing list a little before the start time. You can find our complete rules and meeting details here:
Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any problems or questions. We endeavour to check our e-mails up to the start of a meeting in case anyone has technical difficulties logging into the video call.
Hoping to see many of you there!
All the best,
—The GWG Organisers
