The next meeting of the Glasgow Writers’ Group is Thursday, 1 August, 19:30 (local time), and will be online.
Send your pieces to gwgsubmissions@gmail.com by 23:59 on Saturday 27 July. They will be distributed to all subscribers on Sunday (28 July).
New members must attend at least one meeting before their first submission. You may be asked to confirm you’ve attended before and that you understand our rules before your submission is accepted.
When you submit, please make an effort to include the following:
Title of submission (please specify if it is untitled)
Name/Pen-name/Pseudonym of author (however you want to be referred to)
Word count (soft maximum of 3000, but we’re flexible if the total word count of all submissions for a meeting is under 12k)
Content warnings if your piece contains explicit imagery, violence, discriminatory themes, or other sensitive content (mandatory where such content is included)
The midnight deadline is flexible, though we try to cap the total word count of all submissions at 12k, and it is first come, first served.
Complete rules and guidelines for submissions and our meetings can be found here:
Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any problems submitting, accessing submissions, finding the venue, or anything else. We endeavour to check our e-mails up to the start of a meeting in case anyone has technical difficulties.
Remember, we accept all sorts of submissions. Want to share a short story, an excerpt of a longer piece, an essay, a poem, a script, a blog post? If it’s written, in English, and conforms to the guidelines above, we’re happy to accept it and offer what feedback we can.
Hope you’re all having a good summer, and look forward to seeing many of you there!
